School in Harold Wood

SES Mechanical, in collaboration with Redden Court School and SFAET (Success for All Education Trust) recently completed a £515k upgrade to the water system. The primary goal of this project was to enhance water quality and distribution efficiency throughout the school campus located in Harold Wood, Romford.

Enhancing Educational Infrastructure

Our team successfully replaced the existing hot and cold water distribution systems upgraded the hot water plant and installed three cold water booster sets. This project showcased our proficiency in managing water system upgrades within environments while minimizing disruptions.

Our team successfully tackled this challenge by planning and coordinating the installation of an, on site plant ensuring that the final positioning of the plant would allow for both an installation process and easy maintenance in the future.

Alongside our efforts we replaced the galvanized cold water mains with a new plastic cold water main to supply water to the Main Building and Sports Centre. Thames Water extended their cold water main from the schools boundary to enhance the water supply capacity for the Main Building.

As part of our dedication to providing service we included an external domestic services drawing in the operation and maintenance manual for the school. This drawing outlined all service routes within the school offering information, for any future maintenance or upgrades needed.

Project Details

Working under AEC supervision SES undertook a revamp of the water systems at Redden Court School. The project involved replacing the hot and cold water distribution systems upgrading the hot water plant and installing three new cold water booster sets.

To ensure disruption to school activities we strategically rerouted domestic services distribution at roof level and within existing spaces. This strategic approach helped mitigate any impact on school operations while enabling us to carry out upgrades effectively.

One notable challenge we encountered was the location of the plant room in the schools basement accessible, via a staircase.
